weekend in brooklyn

I know where b and I will be this weekend, as BKLYN DESIGNS invades DUMBO. more than just a trade show, its list of speakers includes my personal hero Colin Beavan, aka no impact man; Jonathan Butler, founder of the brownstoner, (and co-founder of the brooklyn flea. yay jonathan!); the founders/editors of inhabitat, apartment therapy and curbed, as well as big wigs from metropolis, american craft, and the designer editor of new york magazine. admission is free for those in the trade, and $12 (online)/$15 (at the show) for the general public. NOT BAD, says I. any time DUMBO opens its doors is a good time to visit this generally sealed-off neighborhood.

second thing to look forward to this weekend: the only reason I know about this event is that Jennifer June of hermitage is coming from portland to attend. while in town, she's visiting my studio to view my collection. yikes, better get this place cleaned up. if only my nose would stop running...

No way! I was excited enough reading about the event in Dumbo, and then I read the bit about Hermitage, and now I'm totally psyched for you. The shop is gorgeous. Although it's just around the corner from my place, I went there for the first time only yesterday, and I fell in true love with what I'd been admiring from the sidewalk for quite a while now. Your work would fit in beautifully there, and I'd be thrilled to see it in my neck of the woods. I hope all goes well!
